Ways You Can Interact During an Event
Crowdcast offers several ways to participate during an event. Depending on the host's settings, you may be able to chat with other attendees, ask questions, participate in polls, join the Gallery, or appear on Stage.
Audience, Gallery, and Stage
There are three ways attendees can participate during an event:
Audience - Audience members cannot see or hear people in the Gallery, unless they are in the Gallery.
Watch the event
Participate in Chat
Ask and upvote questions in Q&A
Respond to Polls
Gallery - The Gallery acts as a backstage area where hosts can prepare guests before bringing them on Stage. Audience members cannot see or hear people in the Gallery. Hosts often use the Gallery as a waiting area to prepare speakers before bringing them on Stage.
Connect your camera and microphone
Participate in backstage discussions
Prepare before joining the Stage
Stage
Speak live to the audience
Share your camera and microphone
Participate as a speaker or guest
Where is the Audience?
Audience members aren't displayed on Stage or in the Gallery. They are the attendees watching the event who have not joined the Gallery or Stage. Hosts can move audience members into the Gallery or invite them directly to the Stage, depending on the event settings.
Chat
Use the Chat tab to connect with hosts and other attendees before, during, and after an event.
With Chat, you can:
Send messages
React with emojis
Participate in discussions

Q&A
Use the Q&A tab to submit questions for the host and upvote questions from other attendees.
With Q&A, you can:
Ask questions
Upvote questions you want answered
Comment on questions

Polls
Hosts can launch polls during an event to gather feedback and encourage participation.

The People tab lets you see other attendees and participants in the event. Visibility depends on the host's settings, and some events may hide this tab entirely.

Joining the Gallery - Gallery Access is Open
Some events allow attendees to join the Gallery.
The Gallery is a shared backstage space where you can connect your microphone and camera before appearing on Stage.
Depending on the host's settings, you may be able to:
Gallery Access is Open: Join the Gallery directly
Gallery Access is Closed: Raise your hand to request participation
Gallery Access is Private: Be invited by a host
Raising Your Hand - Gallery Access is Closed
If enabled by the host, you can raise your hand to indicate that you'd like to participate.
Hosts often use this feature during:
Q&A sessions
Community discussions
Workshops
Audience participation segments
To raise your hand, you may be prompted to connect a microphone or camera first. This helps ensure you're ready to participate if invited to the Gallery or moved to the Stage.
Find the raised hand icon, and click on it.
A message appears. To confirm your request, click on raise hand.
If your camera and microphone settings are already set up, this message will appear...
If your camera and microphone are not already set up, you may need to grant permissions from your browser or device. You can also update your settings in the A/V module located along the bottom right of the screen '3 dots' ...
Joining the Stage - When Gallery Access is Private
When invited by a host to the Gallery, if your mic and camera settings are already saved, you'll automatically be moved to the Gallery. From there, the host can move you to the Stage, or allow you to speak from the Gallery without having you on stage. The host has the ability to mute participants in the Gallery. Once on Stage, you'll be visible and audible to the audience.
Why can't anyone hear me while I'm in the Gallery, I have myself unmuted?
The host has the ability to mute the gallery, so even if you have your mic unmuted, you would not be heard by others if the host has you muted.
