An overview of how to create polls for your event.

Using Polls in Your Event

Use the Polls module to engage attendees and collect feedback before, during, or after your event. This guide walks through creating and managing polls during your event.

How to Create a Poll

Step 1: Open the Polls Module

Open the Polls module from the right side of your event room.

Step 2: Create a New Poll

Click New Poll to create a poll.

Step 3: Add Your Question and Answer Options

Enter your poll question and add answer options for attendees to choose from.

To add additional answer options, click Add Option.

Step 4: Choose a Visibility Setting

Underneath Poll State select one of the following visibility states:

  • Hidden: The poll is not visible to attendees. You can make it visible at any time before, during, or after the event.

  • Visible: The poll is visible to attendees, but poll results remain hidden.

  • Results Shared: The poll is visible to attendees, and results are displayed to everyone in real time.

Step 5: Save and Manage Your Poll

Your poll is now ready for attendees to respond to.

Hot Tips for Hosts

Polls are a great way to increase engagement, gather feedback, and make your events more interactive. Here are a few best practices to help you get the most out of them.

Plan Polls with a Purpose

Before creating a poll, decide what you want to learn from your audience. Polls can be used to:

  • Gather feedback

  • Check attendee understanding

  • Encourage participation

  • Guide discussion topics

Keep Questions Short and Simple

  • Ask one question at a time.

  • Use clear, concise language.

  • Limit answer options to those that are most relevant.

  • Use multiple-choice questions whenever possible for quick responses.

Time Polls Strategically

  • Start with an icebreaker poll to encourage participation.

  • Use polls throughout your event to re-engage attendees.

  • End with a feedback poll to collect insights for future events.

Incorporate Poll Results Into Your Event

  • Share results with attendees when appropriate.

  • Reference poll responses during presentations or Q&A sessions.

  • Use poll results to guide conversations and discussions.

Avoid Overusing Polls

Too many polls can interrupt the flow of your event. Space them throughout your session to maintain engagement without becoming distracting.

Test Before Going Live

Before your event begins:

  • Confirm your poll questions and answer options are correct.

  • Verify your visibility settings.

  • Test the attendee experience whenever possible.
