Crowdcast has a way to allow hosts to pre-fill attendee emails directly via the event URL. This simplifies the process for attendees to access events, ensuring they use the email address you, as the host, wish and making it quicker and more efficient for the attendee.
How It Works
Hosts can now include an email address in the event URL. After the event URL you would type '?email=email address' Here's an example:
<https://crowdcast.io/c/[email protected]>
When an attendee clicks on this link, their email address will automatically be filled in the registration form, and the "Save My Spot" button will be auto-clicked, streamlining the access process.
Use Cases
Scenario One: You have imported a list of attendees into your event and want them to get immediate access from a URL.
Benefit: By sending personalized login URLs each attendee receives a unique link that pre-fills their email, giving them immediate access and reducing friction in the registration process. This feature works regardless of whether the attendee has an existing Crowdcast account and it means they bypass the payment gateway, Patreon tier or password (only when importing).
Scenario Two: You are hosting an event without a gateway and want attendees to use a specific email address to access the event.
Use for any event that does not require a password, ticket purchase, or Patreon connection you can use pre-filled URLs to ensure attendees sign up with a specific email and do not need to click the “Save My Spot” button.
In this scenario you do not need to import the attendee into the event.
Limitations
If your event has a password, ticket price, or Patreon gateway, attendees will still need to complete these steps if they haven't been imported into the event. The pre-filled email will still aid in simplifying part of the process, but additional authentication or payment steps will still be required.
Benefits
Convenience: Reduces errors and ensures that the correct email is used for registration.
Efficiency: Speeds up the registration process by eliminating the need for attendees to manually enter their email addresses.
Personalization: Allows for personalized communication with attendees, enhancing their overall experience.
