Registering Emails Into Your Event

You can import attendees and guests into your event, allowing them to bypass registration.

Updated over a week ago

You can register people directly into your event via three methods:

  1. Manual email entry

  2. Uploading a CSV file

  3. Setting up a Zapier automation

Importing attendees will bypass any gatekeepers you’ve set up like payment barriers, a password, Patreon tier requirements, or attendance limits. Others who go through the standard registration process through the event URL will still encounter these gatekeepers.

1. Manual Email Entry

Open the Options menu within your event and select Register Emails.

Manually import your attendees by typing each email separated by a comma. Check the box confirming that those imported have agreed to register for your event, then select Import.

2. Import from CSV

Just as with the previous step, open the Options menu and select Register Emails.

You can easily register folks from your mailing list or external systems by uploading a CSV file of emails into your Crowdcast event. You just need a column titled email.

You also have the option to include columns titled firstname and lastname (without spacing) if you want to send more personalized confirmation emails.

Check the box confirming that those imported have agreed to register for your event, then select Import.

📌 You can import up to 1000 registrants per batch.

Once imported, the number of emails that have been imported with accounts and without accounts will be shown.

Attendees who have previously joined an event on Crowdcast will already have accounts and be imported immediately.

Attendees who have never joined an event on Crowdcast will be sent a confirmation email with a personal link to the event that will log them directly into Crowdcast with the email you've imported. They will need to visit the event link from this email to complete registration and appear in the People tab of your event.

3. Setting up a Zapier Automation

Crowdcast offers an integration with Zapier which allows you to collect registrations elsewhere and automate the import process. You can learn more about this integration by reviewing our Zapier support doc.

Attendees who are imported via Zapier will still receive a confirmation email from Crowdcast with a custom link to enter the event. They will not appear in the People tab of your event until they complete this step.

Important Notes:

  • If you are a new host, the ability to import will not be available to you within the first five days of your subscription.

  • Importing attendees will bypass any gatekeepers you’ve set up like payment barriers, a password, Patreon tier requirements, or attendance limits.

  • If you are on a free trial, you will not able to import emails into your events.
