Which browsers and devices are compatible with Crowdcast?
Updated over a week ago

If you're hosting an event, we recommend that you use a computer whenever possible. A computer is more powerful than a mobile device and will provide a better experience for everyone.

If you're using a browser, we recommend any Chromium-based browser like Google Chrome, Brave, Opera, or Edge.

Why shouldn't I host events on Crowdcast using Safari?

Crowdcast doesn't recommend using Safari for hosting events. For the best experience, we recommend using Google Chrome or another Chromium-based browser to ensure smooth operation and compatibility. Safari is known to be more prone to problems compared to other browsers which are based on Chromium. While Safari may work for some functions, it is not reliable for hosting live events and can lead to various technical issues.

Can I run events from a mobile device

If you must use mobile, you can host an event from a recommended mobile browser or from the Crowdcast app with limited features. iOS users are encouraged to use the app instead of the browser. Keep in mind that it's more difficult to monitor the chat and Q&A when hosting from your phone or tablet.

What about attendees?

We also recommend attendees view on a Chromium-based browser, although many also use Firefox.

No matter which browser and device you choose, we always recommend running a thorough tech check before hosting any events.

If you're simply attending an event on Crowdcast, you can join from any mobile device or computer. Android users are able to join events directly from a browser – no download required! Those with an iOS device like iPad or iPhone can attend events from a browser or the Crowdcast app.
