Subscription Plans and Pricing Explained
Subscription Plans and Pricing Explained

✋ Are you only on Crowdcast to attend events rather than host them?

If so, this document isn't for you. Signing up for a Crowdcast attendee account is completely free – no subscription or trial is necessary! While certain events on Crowdcast may be ticketed and require payment for entry, creating an attendee account is always complimentary. Explore our attendee resources for valuable insights on accessing and enjoying events on Crowdcast.

Want to host events of your own? Read on!

We also invite you to join us live in our demos and Q&A sessions. These are great opportunities to chat with us live about your specific event needs.

Q: I want to host events on Crowdcast. How do I know which plan I need?

Plans are priced and structured based on…

  1. The number of hours you will be streaming per month

  2. The number of live attendees joining each session

  3. Features and tools

Here's our pricing page where you can see a breakdown of these for each plan.

Q: What are Add-ons?

Each plan includes a certain number of channel-level host seats, but you have the option to add on extra. These hosts are teammates that you add within your channel settings. Once invited, they are able to create, edit, and run events on your channel.

Don’t forget you can assign event-level co-host roles for no additional cost. Check out this support doc for more details: An Overview of Roles

In addition to adding teammates to your channel, you can also add on hours in batches of five within any billing cycle. Select the add-on features you need from the Billing & Plans section of your Channel Settings.

Q: So, if I need more than 40 hours per month, I should use the add-on feature?

Yes, you can add the extra hours you need from within your billing settings. You can do this at any time.

Q: What is the maximum number of attendees you support?

Crowdcast can support events with up to 3000 live attendees. We do not limit the number who can watch replays. Our highest-level plan, the Business plan, currently allows for 1000 live attendees, before you incur overages. If you’re planning an event that will include more than 1000 live attendees, please reach out to us at [email protected] to discuss options.

Q: What is considered a live attendee?

A live attendee is someone who joins a session during the live broadcast. Someone who watches the replay is not a live attendee. An unlimited number of people can register for your Crowdcast event. The main consideration when choosing a plan is how many you anticipate will actually show up to watch live.

Q: What if more people show up live than my plan accounts for?

Each plan includes a certain amount of live attendees that are able to join a session without any additional charge to the host. If your live attendance exceeds that amount, then you’ll be charged overages at .15¢ per each additional live attendee. You can learn more here: Overages Explained

Q: What if I want to specify how many attendees are able to register?

You can limit the number of people who can register for your event within the Advanced section of your event settings.

Q: Can I sign up for a Crowdcast plan for just one month?

If you're just looking to host a one-off event and only need Crowdcast for a month, sign up for a monthly plan and cancel before the next billing cycle.

If you are thinking of canceling your plan, be aware that your Channel and events will be removed entirely after 30 days. We recommend downloading your MP4s before canceling because your replays will no longer be hosted on your channel. If you want to retain access to your replays as well as other features, consider pausing your plan for $10/month instead of canceling. You can learn more here: Canceling or Pausing Your Plan

If you need to use Crowdcast occasionally, we suggest signing up for the monthly plan and downgrading to the Pause Plan until your next event. The Pause Plan gives you access to all of your events and data for $10/month. You can create and edit events and accept registrations on this plan, but you won't be able to go live.

Q: How do billing cycles work?

Monthly subscriptions are charged on the same numerical date each month.

Annual subscriptions are charged on the same date every year.

Q: Can I roll over my unused hours from this month's billing cycle to the next?

Unused hours do not carry over to your next month's cycle. To see how many hours you have used within a month, go to your account settings and view your Usage within the Billing & Plans section.

Q: Are there any fees added to the monthly/annual plan pricing?

You will be charged a transaction fee if you're selling tickets to your events. You can view details on the pricing page. Otherwise, monthly and annual plan pricing is all-inclusive.

Q: Do you offer discounts?

Q: I'd like more information about the Pause Plan

Hosts who are on monthly billing can easily move to the Pause plan during times when they do not need to host live events for a period but want to maintain access to their data and event features

The Pause Plan gives you access to all of your events and data for $10/month. You can create and edit events and accept registrations on this plan, but you won't be able to go live.

Retention of Data and Features: While on the Pause Plan, you maintain access to all your attendee and event data. This includes the ability to export data and view past event analytics.

Monetize Replays: You can continue to monetize your event replays. This means you can still sell access to recorded events even while you are not actively hosting new live events.

Collect Email Addresses: You can keep collecting email addresses from new attendees who view your event replays. This helps you grow your audience even when you're not hosting live events.

Easy Reactivation: When you're ready to resume hosting live events, you can easily reactivate your subscription plan. All your data and event setups will remain intact, making it seamless to pick up where you left off.

These features make the Pause Plan an excellent option for users who need a temporary break from live streaming but still want to leverage their existing event content and audience engagement.
