Crowdcast allows you to add an attendee's email address directly to your event URL. When they click the personalized link, their email address is automatically entered and registration is initiated - reducing extra steps and helping ensure they use the correct email address.
How it works
Add ?email= followed by the attendee's email address to the end of your Crowdcast event URL.
For example:
https://www.crowdcast.io/c/[email protected]
When the attendee opens the link, Crowdcast will:
Pre-fill their email address
Automatically select Save My Spot
Continue them through the registration or access process
What happens next depends on whether the attendee has already been imported into your event and whether your event has any registration requirements.
If you've imported the attendee
Pre-filled links are especially useful if you've already imported attendees into your Crowdcast event.
Because an imported attendee is already registered, their personalized link can give them quick access to the event without requiring them to register again.
Imported attendees can also bypass registration gateways such as:
A ticket/payment requirement
A Patreon requirement
An event password
This only applies when the attendee has already been imported into the event.
If you haven't imported the attendee
You can also use a pre-filled link without importing the attendee first.
This works particularly well for events without a password, ticket price, or Patreon requirement. The attendee's email will be filled in automatically and they won't need to manually select Save My Spot.
Password, paid, and Patreon events
A pre-filled email address does not bypass your event's registration requirements on its own.
If the attendee hasn't already been imported, they'll still need to complete any applicable:
Password requirement
Ticket purchase
Patreon authentication
Their email address will still be pre-filled, making the registration process a little quicker.
Keep personalized links private
Because the attendee's email address is included directly in the URL, treat pre-filled links as personalized links.
We recommend sending each link directly to the intended attendee rather than posting or sharing personalized URLs publicly.
A few things to remember
Each link should contain the email address you want that attendee to use.
Pre-filled links help reduce typos and registration friction.
Imported attendees and non-imported attendees may have different access experiences.
Adding an email address to the URL alone doesn't bypass payment, password, or Patreon requirements.
