How to Join a Patreon Event on Crowdcast

How to Register for and Access a Patreon Event as a Patron.

In order to watch a patron-only event on Crowdcast, you'll need a free Crowdcast attendee account and a connected Patreon account. This allows Crowdcast to confirm that your Patreon membership gives you access to the event.

After connecting your accounts once, you shouldn't normally need to repeat these steps unless you're joining from a new browser or device.

Ready to watch an event hosted by your favorite Patreon creator?

Your creator will provide you with a Crowdcast event link. They may share this in a regular post on Patreon, by email, on social media, or somewhere else in their community.

You don't need to find or join the event through Patreon's Livestream feature. Simply use the Crowdcast event link provided by the creator.

To register:

  1. Open the Crowdcast event link provided by your Patreon creator.

  2. Click the registration button on the Crowdcast event page.

  3. Choose Sign in with Patreon.

  4. Allow Crowdcast permission to connect with Patreon. This allows us to verify your membership and confirm that you have access to the event.

  5. You'll be redirected back to Crowdcast. Confirm your registration, and you're in! 🎉

Here's a video showing these steps in action:

After completing these steps once, you shouldn't need to follow this process again as long as you continue to join Patreon events from the same browser.

Here's a video showing what this looks like if you are joining from a mobile device. If you want to watch the event in the Crowdcast app, we recommend first registering through your mobile browser and then opening the event in the app.

If you've previously joined a Patreon event on Crowdcast, you already have a Crowdcast account and all you need to do is sign back into that account. Please visit the sign in page and enter your email address or sign in using the Patreon logo.

After you've signed into your Crowdcast account, you can open any event link hosted by a Patreon creator that you're subscribed to in order to watch the event.

Patreon Registration FAQs

I thought I was already connected! Why am I being prompted to sign into Patreon again?

If you see the prompt to connect your integration, it's likely that it's become disconnected or that you have not connected it yet within the new version of Crowdcast. Please follow the steps above to watch the event.

Why am I seeing an error that I'm not at the correct tier when I know that I am?

Start by confirming that you've connected the correct Patreon account. Log into Crowdcast, and go to your account settings to check the email address that you've connected. It's possible that you've signed up as a patron with a different email address than the one you've associated with Crowdcast. This is the most common cause of patron registration issues.

Access & Login Issues

  • Make sure the Patreon account connected to Crowdcast is the one with the qualifying membership.

  • Double-check that you're subscribed to the correct Patreon creator hosting the event.

  • You may have multiple Patreon accounts and could be linked to an outdated one. Make sure they're signed into the intended Patreon account.

Tier & Subscription Problems

  • Check Your Subscription Level: Make sure you're subscribed at or above the required dollar amount for the event (e.g., $10).

  • How Access Works Now: We now grant access based on your actual payment amount—not just your tier. If your total pledge is equal to or higher than the event’s required amount, you'll get access, even if you're not officially assigned to a specific tier.

  • What Changed: Previously, access was tied strictly to your tier membership. Now, any qualifying payment amount will work, whether or not you're in a tier.

  • If you recently upgraded, log out and back in to refresh access.

  • Check for declined payments on your Patreon account, which may affect access.

Event Link & Entry Issues

  • Use the exact event link provided by the creator—some events are unlisted and won’t appear in public searches.

  • Try opening the link in an incognito/private browser if access is restricted.

  • If prompted to pay, ensure you’re using the same Patreon email linked to your Crowdcast account.

Streaming & Playback Troubles

  • Refresh the page or try another supported browser.

  • Disable any browser extensions (especially ad blockers or VPNs) that may interfere with access.

Still Having Issues?

  • Contact the Patreon creator first to confirm you’re on the correct tier and have event access.

  • Reach out to Crowdcast Support with your Patreon email, creator name, and event link for assistance.
