Using Crowdcast with Patreon after October 2026

What Patreon’s livestreaming change means for Crowdcast hosts and the Crowdcast Patreon integration.

Patreon has announced that Crowdcast will no longer be offered as a livestreaming option within Patreon from October 2026. Patreon now has its own built-in livestreaming feature.

This change does not affect Crowdcast’s Patreon integration. You can continue using Patreon and Crowdcast together just as you do today.

What is changing?

Patreon will no longer list or promote Crowdcast as one of its livestreaming options within Patreon.

This is a change on Patreon’s side. It does not remove or alter the integration available through Crowdcast.

How does Patreon’s livestreaming compare?

Patreon’s native livestreaming tool is designed for one-way broadcasts. Attendees can watch the stream, but they cannot join with their camera and microphone.

With Crowdcast, hosts can invite attendees on screen to take part using their camera and microphone. If attendee participation is an important part of your events, you can continue using Crowdcast for that interactive experience.

What can I continue to do?

You can continue to:

  • Create Patreon-exclusive events on Crowdcast

  • Give patrons access based on their Patreon membership tier

  • Invite attendees on screen to participate using their camera and microphone

  • Use your existing Crowdcast and Patreon setup

If you already use the integration, you do not need to reconnect your account or change how your events are set up.

Is Crowdcast’s Patreon integration being discontinued?

No. Crowdcast’s Patreon integration is not being discontinued.

Patreon’s announcement only concerns how livestreaming options are offered within Patreon. Your ability to use Crowdcast for Patreon-exclusive events remains unchanged.

Do I need to take any action?

No. If you already use the Patreon integration with Crowdcast, everything will continue to work as it does today.

You can keep creating events and controlling access for your patrons based on their membership tier. 💜
