Troubleshooting Guide: Common Issues & Fixes

If you're experiencing issues while using Crowdcast, check the possible causes and fixes below.

🔇 Can’t Hear Anything?

Cause: Unless everyone is reporting this as an issue in the chat, this is most likely due to your device’s audio settings or browser permissions.

How to Fix:

  • Check your device volume and make sure it’s not muted or turned down too low.

  • Click the speaker icon 🔊 in the Crowdcast player and adjust the volume.

  • Ensure your headphones or external speakers are properly connected. Try unplugging and reconnecting them.

  • Browser permissions: Make sure your browser is allowed to play sound.

  • Restart your browser and rejoin the event.

🔄 Stuck on Loading Screen or Can’t Enter the Event?

Cause: This is most probably due to browser issues, cache problems, or network restrictions.

How to Fix:

  • Refresh the page.

  • Ensure you're using a supported browser. Chrome is recommended.

  • Try incognito mode or a different browser to rule out cache issues.

  • Disable browser extensions (such as ad blockers or privacy tools) that may interfere.

  • Consider using a VPN like TunnelBear.

  • Try updating your DNS settings. Here’s a YouTube video that walks you through how to do that. We recommend switching to:

    • Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4

    • Cloudflare DNS: 1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1

🎥 Can’t See the Video?

Cause: The event may not have started, or you could have a connection or browser issue.

How to Fix:

  • Make sure the event has started—if it’s upcoming, you’ll see a countdown.

📡 Video/Audio is Buffering or Lagging?

Cause: This is typically due to a slow or unstable internet connection.

How to Fix:

  • Check your internet speed at fast.com. You need at least 5 Mbps for smooth streaming.

  • Move closer to your Wi-Fi router or switch to a wired connection.

  • Close unnecessary browser tabs or applications that may be using bandwidth.

  • If your connection is slow, Crowdcast automatically adjusts the resolution for better playback.

💬 The Chat or Q&A Isn’t Working?

Cause: Browser settings, network restrictions, or extensions may be blocking it.

How to Fix:

  • Refresh the page.

  • Disable browser extensions that might block scripts.

  • If using a work or school network, Crowdcast may be blocked—try switching to a personal connection.

🔑 Can’t Log In or Access the Event?

Cause: You may be using the wrong email or experiencing login issues.

How to Fix:

  • Make sure you're using the correct email (check your invite or confirmation email). If you've accidentally registered with an incorrect email, simply create a new Crowdcast account with the correct email, and re-register for the event. If it's a paid event, contact the host and request they import you manually into the event with the correct email address.

  • If your login link isn’t working, try entering your email and reset your password if necessary.

🔑 Can’t Access Your Patreon Event?

Cause: This is usually due to one of the following:

  • You're not logged into Patreon with the correct account that has access to the event.

  • Your Crowdcast email does not match your Patreon email.
