How to Reset a Session

Resetting a session allows you to completely start over without creating another event or moving your attendees.

How to Reset a Session

Made a mistake or went live too early? Resetting a session lets you start over using the same event link, so your attendees don't need to register again.

Before You Reset

⚠️ Warning: Resetting a session permanently deletes the current session's:

  • Recording

  • Session analytics

This action cannot be undone.

What Happens When You Reset?

Resetting a session:

  • Attendees can remain on the event page. They'll reconnect automatically when you go live again.

  • Registrations and event settings stay the same.

  • Chat messages remain available.

  • The recording and session analytics are permanently deleted.

  • Only the current session is reset in a multi-session event.

How to Reset a Session

  1. Open your event.

  2. Click Options in the top-right corner, or click the next to Ended in the bottom-left corner of your event.

3. Select Reset Session.

4. Read the warning message, then click Yes to confirm.

Tip: If attendees are already waiting in the event, they can simply stay on the page. When you go live again, they'll reconnect automatically - there's no need for them to refresh or register again.

Using RTMP?

If you're streaming with RTMP (OBS, Ecamm, Wirecast, vMix, etc.), you'll need to generate a new stream key after resetting.

To do this:

  1. Exit RTMP mode.

  2. Re-enter RTMP mode.

  3. Copy the new stream key into your encoder.

  4. Reconnect your encoder before going live again.

When Should I Reset a Session?

Resetting a session is useful if:

  • You accidentally went live too early.

  • You started in Browser mode instead of RTMP (or vice versa).

  • You want to completely restart the session after a significant issue or mistake.

You don't need to reset your session if you're simply troubleshooting your camera, microphone, or screen sharing. Those issues can usually be resolved without resetting.

Important Notes

  • The Reset Session option is only available after a session has gone live.

  • In a multi-session event, you can reset one session without affecting the others.
