Overage Charges Explained
If your event exceeds the live attendee limit or monthly event hours included with your plan, overage charges allow you to continue hosting without interruption. The type of overage you're charged depends on your plan.
Live Attendee Overages
If more attendees join your event live than are included with your plan, you'll be charged $0.15 USD per additional live attendee.
Examples
Lite Plan
Live attendee limit: 100
125 people join live
25 additional attendees × $0.15 = $3.75 USD
Pro Plan
Live attendee limit: 250
300 people join live
50 additional attendees × $0.15 = $7.50 USD
Business Plan
Live attendee limit: 1,000
1,050 people join live
50 additional attendees × $0.15 = $7.50 USD
Note: Only attendees who join your event live count toward attendee overages. Registrations and replay views do not.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my event end if I exceed my limits?
No. Your event will continue uninterrupted. Any applicable overage charges will be added to your next invoice.
Do registrations count toward attendee overages?
No. Only people who actually join your event live count toward attendee overages.
Do replay viewers count?
No. Replay views are unlimited and do not count toward attendee overages.
Where can I see my current usage?
You can track your included event hours and live attendee limits from your Billing page in your Crowdcast account.
How can I avoid overage charges?
If you want to avoid overage charges, you can limit the number of people who can register for your event within the Advanced section of your event settings.
You may want to limit team seats based on your anticipated show up rate. At this time, you can only cap the number of attendees who can register. You cannot cap the number who are able to show up live.
What if I’m hosting a multi-session event?
Ok, let’s say you’re on the Pro Plan and hosting a multi-session event with three session. 255 people show up live to Session #1; then 263 show up live to Session #2; and exactly 250 show up live to Session #3.
Session #1 had five additional live attendees: 5 x .15 = .75
Session #2 had 13 additional live attendees: 13 x .15 = 1.95
Session #3 did not exceed what’s included with the Pro plan: no overages applied.
At .15¢ per additional live attendee, you would be charged an overage total of $2.70 for this event.
Important Notes
Our highest-level plan, the Business plan, currently allows for 1000 live attendees, before you incur overages. If you’re planning an event that will include more than 1000 live attendees, please reach out to us at [email protected] to discuss options. Crowdcast can support events with up to 3000 live attendees. We do not limit the number who can watch replays.
