How to Grant Browser Access to Your Mic or Camera

Update your browser permissions allowing your camera and mic to access Crowdcast.

If you’ve blocked Crowdcast from accessing your camera and microphone, you’ll need to change your browser permissions to grant them access again. Keep in mind that, if you're on a shared network like at an office or school, your network administrator may need to set your camera and microphone settings for you.

We've provided instructions below based on a few commonly used browsers:

Chrome

1. Open a new tab and then copy and paste the following text in blue in the URL bar and press Enter:

chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.crowdcast.io%2F

2. Next change the dropdown from Block to Allow for your Microphone and Camera:

3. Now return to your Crowdcast event, and you should see a panel to select your camera and mic like this:

Firefox

1. Click the three horizontal lines in the upper right-hand corner of your browser window. Open your Settings.

2. Click Privacy & Security. Scroll down to Permissions and open the settings for your camera. Find https://www.crowdcast.io and change the status to Allow. Do the same for your microphone settings.

3. Now return to Crowdcast, and you should see a panel to select your camera and mic like this:

Microsoft Edge

1. Click the three horizontal lines in the upper right-hand corner of your browser window. Open your Settings.

2. Click Cookies and Site Permissions. Scroll down to Site permissions. Under the Recent activity section, find and open the settings for https://www.crowdcast.io/. Change the camera and microphone options to Allow.

3. Alternatively, you could also scroll down to All permissions and select camera and/or microphone. Find https://www.crowdcast.io under the Block list, and click the trash can icon on the right to remove the block.

4. Now return to Crowdcast, and you should see a panel to select your camera and mic like this:
