Step 1: Open the Polls Module
To begin, open the polls module located on the far right side of your event. This can be found in the navigation bar or by clicking on the "Polls" tab.
Step 2: Click the New Poll Button
Once you have opened the polls module, click on the "New Poll" button to create a new poll.
Step 3: Add Your Question and Possible Answers
Next, type in your question in the designated field and add some possible answers for your attendees to choose from. If you would like to add more possible answers, simply click the "Add Option" button.
Step 4: Choose to Reveal or Hide Poll Results
You have the option to toggle whether to reveal the poll results as attendees answer or keep them hidden. If you choose to keep them hidden, you can reveal them at any point in time, including while the event is live or after it has ended.
Step 5: Create and Share Your Poll
Once you have finalized your poll, you have the option to create and share it immediately or to create it as hidden. If you choose to create it as hidden, you can reveal it to your attendees at any point before, during, or after the live event.
Congratulations, you have successfully created a poll in the Polls Module! Your attendees can now participate and provide valuable feedback during your event.
Tips on Using Polls in your Events
Using polls effectively during events can boost engagement, gather valuable feedback, and make sessions more interactive. Here are some important tips:
1. Plan Polls with a Purpose
Decide in advance what you want to achieve with each poll (e.g., engagement, feedback, knowledge check).
Align polls with the session’s goals and content.
2. Keep Polls Short & Simple
Limit poll questions to 1-3 at a time.
Keep the wording clear and concise to avoid confusion.
Use multiple-choice questions for quick responses.
3. Time Them Strategically
Start with an icebreaker poll to warm up the audience.
Use mid-session polls to re-engage attendees.
End with a feedback poll to gather insights on the session.
4. Make Polls Interactive
Display results in real-time to spark discussion.
Reference poll results in your presentation to keep the conversation going.
Encourage audience participation by acknowledging responses.
5. Balance Frequency
Too many polls can be disruptive; space them out to maintain flow.
Use them when engagement naturally dips (e.g., after a long presentation segment).
6. Use Poll Results for Follow-up
Share insights from polls in post-event emails or reports.
Adjust future events based on audience feedback.
7. Test Poll Functionality Before the Event
Ensure the polling feature works smoothly with your event platform.
If using external tools, check integration and accessibility.
