Ensuring Access to Crowdcast Events: Firewall & Network Requirements

Troubleshoot firewall-related access issues for Crowdcast events and ensure seamless participation for hosts, guest speakers, and attendees.

Updated today

Most hosts, guest speakers, and attendees can use Crowdcast without any problems. However, if you're joining from an organization with strict network security controls, firewall restrictions may prevent you from going live, joining the stage, or even watching as an attendee.

Whitelist These Domains

Ask your IT department to allow access to the following domains and their subdomains to prevent connectivity issues:

  • crowdcast.io

  • livekit.cloud

  • crowdcats.us

  • backblazeb2.com

Enabling these domains ensures that speakers and attendees can access the event without disruption.

Firewall Configuration for Hosts

If you're the host, your IT department may need additional configuration details. For an optimal experience, request the following firewall settings:

Minimum Requirement:

  • Ensure that TCP port 443 is open. Some firewall/proxy rules restrict SSL traffic over this port, which can interfere with event access.

Best Experience:

  • For the best possible performance, open UDP ports 20000-65000 to allow seamless video and audio streaming.

For more details on the specific firewall settings required by our third-party streaming provider, refer to their Configuring Firewalls support documentation.
